The Media

The hostile and propagandistic output of the Australian media is without precedent in the history of Australian journalism. It has embraced smears, fabrications, outright lies, censorship, and a ruthless campaign which has systematically managed the opinion of the Australian public. This has attracted commentary from a range of sources, including the CLA:

CIVIL LIBERTIES AUSTRALIA (CLA)
"The real story is how a young powerless woman is being imprisoned for a crime that she probably had nothing to do with. But the Australian media have become her persecutor".

The Expendable Project has collected a huge library of documentation and information on these disturbing activities. A whole series of reports have been produced, and many interviews recorded. The following have been placed in the public domain:

CROSS-SECTIONAL EXAMPLES OF MEDIA ABUSE
From News Corp and Fairfax Media in print, to the ABC in broadcasting, the abuses of Schapelle Corby and her family penetrated every aspect and area of media influence and operation.
THE PRIMARY SMEAR REPORT
In Australia, dead men cannot sue. This report demonstrates how this convenience was used to manufacture the most appalling of fabrications, and false allegations, against Schapelle Corby's deceased father.
THE INSIDER INTERVIEW
Long term Private Investigator, Col Chapman, discusses the methods, techniques, approaches, and fabrications.
THE PRISON ABUSE REPORT
Schapelle Corby's suffering in Kerobokan prison was significantly increased through the actions of the Australian media. As she sunk into severe mental illness, the media continually invaded her privacy, harassed her, supported her abuse by the prison for PR purposes, and worse. They breached her human rights on many occasions.
THE OPINION MANAGEMENT REPORT
This report examines the media landscape, with particular focus upon the role of the state owned ABC. It explores some of the approaches used to influence public opinion, and describes how the propagandistic output resulted in extremely disturbing behaviour amongst large sections of Australian society.
EXAMPLES OF BROADCASTING ABUSE
A selection of examples which illustrate some of the disturbing methods and techniques employed by the broadcasting media.
PRESENTING FICTION AS FACT
The presentation of fiction as fact has been a common thread through most media channels over the years. However, this disturbing approach proved to be a particularly lucrative revenue stream in 2011, when a collection of proven smears and fabrications were promoted via an almost unprecedented media platform.
THE AUSTRALIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION
The ABC has performed a pivotal role throughout the case, yet it has been shown to be wholly unaccountable. It has exempted itself from federal legislation, such as the Freedom of Information Act, has remained ungoverned by the ACMA, and has been unanswerable to direct or political complaints from the public.
DEAD MEN CAN'T SUE
This documentary film demonstrates how the death of Schapelle Corby's father was ruthlessly exploited, as it opened the floodgates to unmitigated smears and paid-for fabrications.
TAXPAYER FUNDING OF HOSTILE BROADCASTS
This report documents the public funding of television smears against Schapelle Corby and her family, via a $567,000 inducement, courtesy of the Government of Queensland.
THE DFAT NETWORK REPORT
This report demonstrates how, through DFAT, the Australian government engineered the media such that pro-Indonesian, and often Schapelle-hostile, journalists, were positioned across the nation’s major publishers and broadcasters.
THE AUSTRALIAN PRESS COUNCIL
This item reveals the role of the Australian Press Council in serving the interests of its fiscal benefactors, at the expense of transparency and integrity.
THE CENSORSHIP OF THE EXPENDABLE PROJECT
Despite the grave and serious nature of the huge cache of official documentation published on this website, it has never been reported by the mainstream media in Australia. Further, the misreporting of the Australian media directly provoked and induced the gagging of Schapelle Corby, following her release on parole.

THE EXPENDABLE DOCUMENTARY
The following extract, from the Expendable documentary, explores the role of the state owned Australian Broadcasting Corporation:

CURRENT STATUS
Unfortunately, at the time of creating this web page, the situation shows no signs of abating. Output remains the same, abuse of Schapelle Corby is ongoing, and fabrications continue to be broadcast and published as credible.

The lack of plurality of media ownership, the self-interest agenda of supporting the government and commercial interests, at Schapelle Corby's expense, and the self evident imperative of aligning with previous fabrications, continues to drive a hostile agenda.

The Australian government are well aware of this situation, and continue to endorse it. The 2011/12 media enquiry, for example, carefully avoided issues relating to Schapelle Corby, and the government's regulatory agencies have even, de facto, endorsed the the abuse of her human rights.

The Australian media have played, and continue to play, a central role in the wilful political sacrifice of an innocent citizen.

"The media is the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent." ~ Malcolm X
